Well even with the internet there are people in their home countries who have little grasp of the politics of their own nation. Quite a few people on this website for example.

Glowing Carp at least understands who the players are, that's more understanding than Mr. Perfect has of his own country. It might as well be another country as far Mr. Perfect is concerned, he doesn't know who he is talking about.

I think the Mayor of Houston is a Democrat actually. She's the first Mayor of a major city who is an out of the closet Lesbian.
I give Mr. Perfect credit, he's right about being shafted by Democrats. I mean it's ultimately not that meaningful being that Republicans generally do not get elected as the Mayor of a major city, and as the NDAA bill going through Congress right now shows they are as much in favor of ending Civil Liberties as any Democrat, but he's right in that it is Democrats doing this.
