Whats interesting about this particular story is that it confirms all of the fears of paranoid conservative commentators. I've been hearing for years that the Mexican border is a soft underbelly for terrorist invasion, and Iran attacking a Saudi confirms all of the "regional ambitions" and Risk-boardgame-level geopolitical analysis that Spengler et al have been flogging for a decade.

I guess this is my way of saying that it seems like something a pro-Israel American conservative would dream up, rather than anybody in Israel. The Mexican connection stick out like a sore thumb to me.

Prediction: within days if not hours, conservative media will pull up Muellers testimony before Congress in 2007 ( I think). In that, he spoke about just those items and put a wildly speculative number of some 5k Hezzbo'allah agents already in the US. The fact that he was probably right about that is for our purposes irrelevant. WND or Newsmax or somebody will rerun that item very soon.

I'd like to retract the " it's the US" thing. I really do not want to believe we could do something this stupid, which would have to be decided at the highest level, in this sort of encapsulated, easy to refute Vaudeville of a false flag op. whilst im generally prepared to accept any level of st00pid from our governments without blinking im really struggling to see how an attack on a saudi ambassador would be the way to provoke the american people into accepting a new war.

im struggling to see much more than just "general distraction from other things we dont want the news to be focusing on ".
