Could Shakespeare's Bones Tell Us if He Smoked Pot?

Whether the Bard did or didn't smoke pot probably had less to do with his creativity than who his friends were, what he was reading at the time, what he ate for breakfast, how tired he was, how much physical exercise he got,... etc. Artists are always trying to find a way to get their brains to "that place" where ideas flow out the best. This is something they share with athletes, if you think about it.

I think we could learn just as much about where creativity comes from without digging Shakespeare up, and instead talking to some living playwrights that do and don't smoke cannabis and compare their environments and see if we find any commonalities.

As to the 'War', I think that we are living in a time of great upheaval and that 2012 is 1776/1969/1919 in terms of its place in the shaping of world events. Yes, that involves elections, but it may very well involve an uprising of the type Demon is warning about. And no, I don't mean I am going to take up arms, I don't own any and I am not organized in that way. I am not even that great of a shot. But the world is changing, and I want to be right there in the middle of it. I don't want to be sidelined 'cuz I got high, cuz I got high, cuz I got high'.

i didnt sleep for weeks when i gave up eventually.. the other twitches and a frazzled nervous system, i could suppress because i really wanted change, but aaargh let me sleep.

I don't have any such problems. When the pot leaves my system after a couple of weeks it's no big deal. And I dream lots when I am stoned. I like to dream.
