It's not that we don't like Americans, it's rather that we don't like American policies. Most countries think that defending themselves against foreign threats means acting when such threats are becoming evident. The US seems to think that any possible threat, which may or may not be true, entitles Americans to attack the possible, often imaginary, enemy. It also entitles them to spy on its own citizens denying them basic civil rights. To some of us in Europe American policies sometimes seem to be a sort of nazism with human face... I doubt the American Revolution was made with this in mind. I lately reread your Declaration of Independence, and found it one of the most inspiring, well written, political statement ever. Maybe you should reread it too...
