Apparently Frank Miller agrees with certain aspects which limit the Batman character. That he occasionally operates without police cooperation/permission and that he doesn't murder/torture people enough.
To that end I noticed while walking through a bookstore today that Miller has a new book out for Christman. In it a costumed vigilante called "The Fixer" in a fictionalized New York runs around torturing and killing al Qaeda terrorists (mostly Arabs, but one Irish guy, so not racist!), with the action interspersed by caricatures of Obama, Michael Moore, Bush II, and Daniel Pearl.
It looked pretty stupid/mental, but I admit to not being a comics guy.
