Is processing more consumer goods a real measure of wealth, though, in light of the fact that the 1984 guy could place himself in a much better position for his future then as opposed to now? Admittedly, this questions the question, not the numbers. But the wealth then was more easily put into education or insurance or significant retirement preparation, then as opposed to now. We may have more toys, yes, but less security. In that, it's far less money than it appears.
Don't know what it is, but I'm agin'it.
