yeah, the law is just catching up as those that made it are happy enough with level of control and don't feel threatened by letting people know about it by running it through Court to make it legal.

I guess some kind of tie-in is inferred, though it seems more an indictment of an authoritarian police state than anything to do with the military. I have heard some reporting on the current Supreme court case regarding this issue, though I don't know how it is currently going. I'll be very sad if this new form of warrantless search is upheld.

The next step will be to have trackers built in to every car to save on installation expenses and then the next step will be to leave them permantly turned on to save on start up expenses, a few more steps in Mr Perfect's path of minimising inefficiencies.

Again AIUI many if not most cell phones do this and AIUI the only way to stop it is to remove the battery from your cell phone........
