Unemployment at around the 10% mark pretty much guarantees the death knell of Obama presidency, the Republicans could roll out a life size cardboard cut out of a human, Romney, and win. So the only chance Obama has of avoiding this is ennacting executive powers and enforcing a jobs bill in the manner of the 'New deal', the similarities between now and the Great Depression justify such action. When the Republicans, Tea party and Limbaughs of the world attack, just write them off as anti-growth, anti-American dream, too easy.
Obama's presidency so far has been of obsequious kow towing masking a passive aggression and I don't see it changing too quick, so such comprehensive action over the next year has bubkus, even in the face of it's own demise, thus the spread widens for a Republican victory and as that spread widens the Republicans will gamble more, naturally, thus Cain '999-endthefed' becomes a viable option as it achieves demise of the Union and allows Corporations a free hand, with no fed regulations, which effectively means no regulations what so ever because state regulations are useless, clouds of MercurySulphide don't stop at State lines.
So the short answer is no.
better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
