My son , who is a senior at a UO came home for portland marathon and went to 'Occupy Portland' in the evening . I asked him what is this about . His reply was 'we voted Obama in to do the job - but it seems that we have to take it in our own hands'

Azari, the consensus is forming that there is not much video of these "protests" on MSM because the crowds are much smaller than advertised. MSM are trying to help these kids out I think.

I'm not saying they are violent, I say they have little loyalty to the inertia inherent in established systems. In fact, they see it as the enemy. In real ways, especially when you don't have concrete ideas of what you are doing, that's antisocial behavior. I'm saying they will dismantle those institutions that could otherwise be worked within, assuming they weren't all compromised and screwed up like they are. And I think that's how Alph saw it, too.

their is a decreasing amount of people that think stable employment with every increasing wages (and house prices) is a likely outcome for much of the west

as such, their isnt much in the FIRE economies which isnt up for discussion and i kinda doubt much of the baby boomer experience is going to be relevant to many of us... beyond that im pretty much at a loss for predicting anything... barring the inner cynic which is smelling war as a fix-it-all for alot of convergant issues, as has always been the way.
