Being in Love

I am a junky for being in love.



I have been in love several times throughout my life, head over heals change my life in crazy ways love. Once in love, I never fall out of love. I can commit to one woman in a material sense, but I cannot be in love with just one woman. I fall in love easily, and don't fall out of love ever.

There is a Sufi concept called Ishq I was recently introduced to. It is passionate ecstatic love that is boundless and without end and is subservient to no rationality whatsoever.

I have, fortunately, outgrown the need to be in love with any woman. But I haven't outgrown lust. Sex and friendship are alright, love is a pain in the neck, a biological trick to make me mate. But I do love dearly my children, so love is possible.
