President Obama is just another American President hostage to the Israeli lobby. Have 60 years not been enough to find a negotiated solution? The point is that Israel wants to swallow most of the West Bank, leaving the Palestinians to live in a ghetto. Time for the US to hold a gun to Israel's head and force it to settle the issue with the Palestinians.

Europe more irrelevant with every passing day. Every day Europe is more irrelevant. If Europe swallowed by the ocean tomorrow, very little change would occur in the world. I would miss the Ferraris though. Big time. Nice people Europeans in many cases, but sun is setting.

China is taking it's place, but faces many troubles.

US stands to benefit the most.

Jut one more example of incumbents voted out, whoever they are, in Spain Zapatero's socialists will get voted out when their turn comes. The right suffers more because they ran more governments.

Of course neither the right nor the left have a clue as to how to cope with this crisis. Austerity does not work, but neither does Keynesianism when the world economy is being driven by what happens in China or India, not in Europe or America. The social democratic left have actually tended to kowtow to bankers even more than the right.

President Obama said that the world was getting scared about the situation in Europe. I suppose that, by saying so, he was trying to make people even more scared and, at the same time, making the euro more vulnerable. In fact, a great deal of the so-called euro crisis is the result of speculation against the euro, commanded by American interests, which need to destroy the euro in order to make the dollar's position as a world reserve currency a lot safer. Which is necessary if the US wants to continue printing paper to pay for its huge trade deficit and to afford its huge military expenditure. With friends like this we sure do not need enemies. I guess it is time to show Americans the door, in Europe, and ask them to close all military bases on our continent. It would be stupid to be stabbed in the back and do nothing about it.
