I started a small business today. I doubt I will be hiring employees though. I will work on a contractor vendor model.

I don't do handouts from the government.

If that changes as I scale up and I feel like the bureaucracy is sapping my ability to compete then I might take such a subsidy if I feel it fairly offsets the bureaucratic costs.

Dude, this is awesome. Tax time is going to suck, though. What with the at least 48 W2 forms I'm going to have to work with, it might be a good time to invest in accounting firms. Seriously, this forum thing could really pay off if we were all employing each other. I can do this job at my other jobs, no sweat.

Don't know what I am trying to say here, really, but I don't want the government to start taxing rich people exorbitantly. I don't want to steal from them. I don't want the government to take inordinately from anyone. The government upkeep should be so minimal it isn't controversial.

I don't want to be left alone by the government. I want everybody to be left alone, as much as is practicable.
