I am looking for a word

What is a word that ecompasses the 'Will to Power', that means sort of like 'hubris' except without the connotation of it being over-stepping or over-reaching? Kind of like what noble meant before it became a synonym for virtuous. Basically the belief in one's own right to rule over others.
The canary didn't die because this mine is dangerous, it died because it's lazy and wasn't raised with a proper work ethic.

umn..... how 'bout Lacan's favourite, ?.......
More than just a sense of well-being as the dictionary implies. Freud uses it as a prelude to pathology, the Symbolists use it to describe sexual energy, I've seen it use to essentially name what you described in the OP. Derrida, perhaps? I'm thinking along the lines of , or self-realisation.......

It's been called the white man's burden ( sorta), but there goes the non-prejudicial thing.
Why not simply create a word? Happens all the time. I just made one up the other day. I mean, I had been drinking, but still.
