I have a 360. I mostly play Team Fortress 2 on my PC though.

But for the 360 I love:

Halo - the Epicness of the war is just mindblowing, and since I know the story probably deeper than 99% of the people on the planet, I get a lot of out of the narrative.
Rainbow Six: Vegas - Favorite tactical shooters ever.
Bioshock 1, number 2 was just a rehash of the first one and thus bored me.
Force Unleashed is a lot of fun, throwing tie fighters at storm troopers kind of rocks.

My wife really loves Assassin's Creed games. She also loves Mass Effect.

Yeah, I played Deus Ex back in the day. Mass Effect is basically a ripoff of Deus Ex almost completely.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is pretty great, eh? It's as much of a remake as a standalone story and it excels in both those forms.

My 360 is mainly a remnant of an older time, although I do keep it around for any Rockstar game that demands a large TV screen. My PC is sorta craving some sort of SSD upgrade at the moment, I've just not had the time to do that.

Looking forward to playing:

Batman: Arkham City - stylized martial arts fun, open, non-linear world, enough purpose (you're the dark knight) to get the player moving
Rage - id never disappoints even it it doesn't always astound.
Mass Effect 3 - the only reason I'll buy the Kinect. I'm honestly trying to be less of a nerd but dammit, but verbally commanding Miranda to slam those mercs with warp while I've suspended them momentarily in the air... damn, just damn.

Still feel like no American companies have beaten the Stalker series yet. I wonder if Borderlands comes close. I feel like I'm missing some big things that are coming soon. I know there's some Rockstar subsidiaries working on cool locations, but its hard to track down because they never seem to drum up publicity until they're close to release.

I used to game a lot in my teens and early 20's, and just don't have the time/inclination anymore. But I've had some free time this summer and after removing layers of dust from my PS3 I started playing the Fallout games. They are like the famous Oblivion (which I never got into) but set in post-nuclear-apocalypse America. I've found them quite entertaining, assuming you don't mind lots of "fetch quests" punctuated by moral choice-making for dozens of hours.

I also got a chance to play through Bioshock* some time ago. Very clever art direction and implementation of philosophical ideas in a game.

Ibrahim,
Concur on time issues. Main reason I have completed some games in the past five years is due to deployments. After 12-hr shifts, not exactly a huge selection of off-time activities to do (you can only work out so much). At home, I get about an hour to two hours every couple of days. Between family time, reading lists, playing guitar, and checking in here, not much time for free-roaming games that I like (Oblivion, Fallout 3, Borderlands, sounds like Gotham City would be cool). But, I've played video games since I was a little kid, and I don't want to let that part of me go just because I'm marching towards 40. I'm in the dark on the "modding" community for Oblivion though...

Rednblacklumberjack,
I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 3 to see if they can pull off a decent closing to a good story arc (and am curious as to the game-within-the game choices towards the "love" scene). I don't mind if they stole Deus Ex's game mechanics like Tinker said, because I like not having to relearn button mashing, and if the mechanics and conversation wheel works, copy it; as long as the story and visuals have their own character, I'm content.

Oh, and I'm cheap as hell now...I rented Deus Ex: Human Revolution from Redbox, and except for Assassins Creed I and II, and Mass Effect 1, all my games have been in the used aisle at Gamestop or reduced on Amazon.

Rage looks cool, but I wonder if it's too close to Borderlands and Fallout 3 in terms of story.

Mom just got the kids a dance game for the Wii. I am surprised how closely the dance moves mirror 1980s MTV videos for the songs. I'm the best at this stuff in the house. Nobody rocks KC and the Sunshine Band like me.

That, and Dawn of WarII, which I haven't played since my video card burned out six months ago. Goes to level of prioritization, I guess. But I really like going after xenos, mutants and demons with ten - foot plasma hammers.
Don't know what it is, but I'm agin'it.

I like doing it for the emperor. In fact, that's my war cry, bellowed at the top of my voice which is considerable. "For the Emperor!!!". I use it all the time.

Sending a fax? "For the Emperor!!!"

Pressing a floor button in an elevator? "For the Emperor!!!"

Toast ? "For the Emperor!"

Queers a meeting with area reps, but if they don't like it, they can quit offering me doughnuts. They should know by now in whose name I accept all pastries.
Don't know what it is, but I'm agin'it.

There is a new console game out, I'm not sure if its FPS or some kind of Bathesda-style first-person RPG or what, but you get to play as a space marine.

It's true. Though I think the real innovation is the lack of true death, and not the hitting people in the head with a bitchin electric hammer. ;)

Anyway, whenever the Transhuman Apocalyptic Revolution starts, I think that Demon of Undoing is the guy with the hammer.

I'm hoping I can choke admirals who fail me telekinetically from the bridge of my star destroyer.

So what is wrong with PC games? Always seemed dumb to build another computer for a game. Just use the one you have.
