blink, they invented shakespear, ermm yeh, and then had to invent all them stories and words to flesh it out.

personaly, i accept the theory he spent alot of time in the pub and listening to stories from all sorts, high and low - so i suspect his bones would be full of wine and ale.

Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

The canary didn't die because this mine is dangerous, it died because it's lazy and wasn't raised with a proper work ethic.

Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

ansuchin I think you are dismissing the very real impact that marijuana has on the brain. It's a psychoactive substance, not merely a relaxant. Much art has been made under the influence of marijuana, and it's kind of a stereotype that marijuana makes you immediately hungry or sleepy.

Indica gets you really into a deep headspace.

Sativa is something of a stimulant

Smoking some sativa when there is hard work to be done can actually be really great. I love doing manual labor like digging a hole or something while high on some sativa. There is something very refreshing about it. It cools down the intellectual processes, and is just kind of nice to get that feeling while you are cooking in the Sun and working hard with your mates.

Indica is great (for me) if I want to hyper-focus on one thing but in a very relaxed way. The problem is if you lose the track of your focus you may end up hyperfocusing on something other than your intended goal. But writing is a pleasure while under the influence of Indica.

Well you have reports of George Washington smoking pot, so it goes back at least that far in American-European civilization.

Marijuana certainly can curb one's output, it just kind of depends on how motivated one is to begin with. I am trying to cut back. I have actually increased my intake a lot in the last year and see my will flagging even though I have been involved in some cooler and more substantive things during that time.

I don't use it well, in that I am not disciplined in its usage, but I know plenty of people who smoke every day who are quite productive.

It'd be hard to say Paul McCartney was not productive and he reports smoking every day.

It's time to set my demons free
Been put to the test

Do I get it? Costs 6 million dollars do I get it? Yeah, Dre, I get it, you've got an endorsement deal from a grower. I get it.

To be honest, my experience with MJ sees both yours and Ansuchin's points to be real although I agree more with you. I know exactly what you mean about digging...

I also find it interesting that those that are the most opposed to smoking marijuana have never even tried it.

An excellent book on the subject can be found .

Ansuchin has a very valid point, and I think unlike most non-smokers actually kind of does get it. I just wanted to point out that there really ARE some benefits and not all of the stereotypes of the negatives are actually true.

Ansuchin's argument is the argument I have made in my own mind in the past, and it is the most compelling argument as to why to quit. Though, I am coming to the conclusion that next year is going to essentially be a war on some level, and I need to start coalescing my will, so smoking a drug that disperses will is probably not something I should be doing.
