suggest still strong possibility Huckabee may be late entrant primaries...

that his will not run decision was a strategic postponment....

Huckabee: 2012 GOP Race to be 'Demolition Derby'

Friday, 25 Feb 2011

Mike Huckabee tells Newsmax that the 2012 Republican presidential primary contest is likely to be a contentious “demolition derby” as a dozen or more candidates maneuver for the nomination.

Huckabee, who is about to kick off his book tour in Iowa, continues to poll well among potential GOP presidential candidates. Asked whether he is about to announce his candidacy or is ambivalent about running, as some have reported, Huckabee tells Newsmax: “I’m not quite ambivalent. I think it’s a matter of being methodical and thoughtful.

“It’s not that I don’t have a real interest in making the decision, but I want to make this decision thoughtfully, not impulsively. And it’s a big decision to make.

In light of his strong poll numbers, Huckabee was asked why he might decide not to run for the White House in 2012.

“Two things. I do believe it’s going to be a very very fractious Republican primary. We may have a dozen to 15 guys who all get in, elbowing each other. It’s going to be demolition derby.

“But the second reason is, I’ve got to be able to see the way to the finish line. If it were all about how can we get that guy in Michigan a job, what can we do to really secure our borders, how can we deal with the spreading unrest in the Middle East — if those were the issues that I knew I would be focused on to run for president, I’d probably be out there making the announcement today.

“But I’ve done this before, and unfortunately a lot of time is spent defending oneself against these ridiculous charges that come from one of ten thousand decisions that maybe were made when I was governor, distorted and contorted, and the next thing you know you’re not talking about the things that really matter, you’re not talking about the things that compel you to run. You’re out there putting out itty-bitty brushfires.

“So I’ve got to believe in my heart of hearts that I could stay focused on what it would mean to be president of the United States, not that there’s a blogger over here who’s just created a firestorm because he’s now speculated that when you were in grade school you pulled a girl’s hair in the fifth grade and what does that say about your attitude toward women.

“It’s that kind of nonsense that sometimes just makes you say, wow, are we actually going to have a campaign or are we going to have a spitting match.”

Huckabee stands by his contention in a September interview that he can beat Obama in 2012.

THERE'S CONSIDERABLE TIME UNTIL IOWA CAUCUS FEB 6 2012 WHICH HUCKABEE WON LAST TIME

Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

I'd hate for anyone to have to do without. A government in every bedroom!

Ibrahim It's electorally irrelevant. It benefits her not at all other than those who already would've voted for her anyway. But it's fan-fucking-tastic for Barack Obama should she win the GOP nom. It alienates both libertarians AND moderates.

Remember GOP, give a gift to Barack Obama, vote Michele Bachmann.

can one overdose on irony?

Bachmann's IRS job isn't part of her grand conversion narrative.

She doesn't hide it, but she does describe her old gig with fancy government bureaucrat talk:

She was a "federal tax litigation attorney," she says.

Her four years at the IRS are also the only job she's ever held outside of elected office.

There are publicly available documents from only one case Bachmann worked on:

a judgment against a resident of the White Earth Reservation who believed

that the federal government's treaty with the Chippewa Indians shielded part of his income from taxation.

Unlike most Tea Party folks and all "sovereign citizens," this guy had a point!

But he lost. Thanks to Michele Bachmann.

the irony of the libertarian tea bagger types drooling over a creationist whose only real job was dragging people into court for the tax man ....

is absolutely cosmic in scale and dumbfounding in its revelation of the shallowness of all hands aboard this empty vessel headed nowhere in particular.

Re: What about Michele Bachmann ?

Postby skyhook77sfg » Wed Jul 13, 2011 12:45 am

ok youre on...

lets look at it this way:

What Kind of "Doctor" is Marcus Bachmann?

Over the weekend, Truth Wins Out and The Nation exposed the truth about Michele Bachmann's husband's Christian counseling service: It tries to "cure" gay people with harmful, quack-science "ex-gay" therapy.

On the web site of Bachmann and Associates, readers are invited to "meet Dr. Marcus Bachmann" who's been "a clinical therapist in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years." But what kind of "doctor" is Marcus Bachmann and where did he get his degree? In his bio Bachmann lists a masters degree from Pat Robertson's Regent University in Virginia. The bio also lists a "PhD – Clinical Psychology, Union Graduate School, OH." As blogger JARS points out in a well-researched post, the punctuation he uses is "PhD," which should be Ph.D." Okay, that could be just a style choice, as a commenter points out, and people do use both. But it's important because he may or may not have a doctor of philosophy in clinical psychology. And the Union Graduate School no longer exists. Bachmann got a doctoral degree in something from a shady university that came under scrutiny from the Ohio Board of Regents and whose graduate school was dissolved:

The Union Institute's Ph.D. program came under scrutiny by the Ohio Board of Regents in the late 1990s, early 2000s which culminated in its 2002 Reauthorization Report. The report was critical of the Union Institute's Ph.D. program, noting in particular that " ... expectations for student scholarship at the doctoral level were not as rigorous as is common for doctoral work ... As a result, The Union was put on probation, the Union Graduate School was dissolved and the Ph.D. program was restructured.
JARS goes on to write that it seems highly suspect that Marcus Bachmann has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology because, if you follow the timeline, the school wasn't offering it:
What does all this mean? On his website Dr. Bachmann states he’s had 23 years experience. Simple math brings us to the year 1988. If Dr. Bachmann’s Ph.D. was completed prior to this date, he might have graduated from The Union Graduate School which offered ONLY a Ph.D. in Arts and Sciences. If he graduated later than 1986, then he would have graduated from The Union Institute (1986), or The Union Institute and University (2001) and his Ph.D. would have been in Interdisciplinary Studies.

If in fact Dr. Marcus Bachmann graduated from this institute, whatever it was named at the time, he would not have graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. The ONLY doctorate in Clinical Psychology was offered after 2001, and the degree is a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) and not a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy).
JARS doubts in his post that Bachmann is even a licensed therapist. But Politico indeed confirms that he is not licensed and that Minnesota is one of the few states where you can practice therapy without a license:
The Minnesota Board of Psychology and the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy confirmed to POLITICO that Bachmann is not licensed with them. And a search of the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy license database returns no result.

Pat Robertson's Regent College and the so called Union Graduate School

Plus Oral Roberts U for wifey

and the jury has a verdict.....

An undercover investigation conducted by Truth Wins Out found that Bachmann & Associates – the counseling firm owned by Bachmann’s husband Marcus – employs therapists offering “reparative” ex-gay therapy that promises to wash that gay away. Awkwardly for Michele, the anti-government Tea Partyer, not everyone who seeks the clinic’s services enjoys coverage from an insurance plan sponsored by a private employer, meaning that the clinic may have billed the government’s Medicaid program for thousands of dollars in reimbursements for counseling services aimed at turning gay people straight.

Subjecting gay people to pseudoscientific “therapy” (and billing Medicaid for it) does more than put Dr. Bachmann’s unlicensed clinic in the crosshairs of an investigation into both his psychotherapy credentials and his wife’s anti-government bonafides. Ex-gay therapy of the kind practiced by Bachmann & Associates isn’t just hypocritical and widely discredited as ineffective – it’s dangerous. Professional associations such as the American Psychological Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychiatric Association have all condemned reparative therapy. According to the American Psychiatric Association, “the potential risks of ‘reparative therapy’ are great, including depression, anxiety, and self-destructive behavior.”

LATEST REPORTS INDICATE SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS COLLECTED FROM MEDICAID
