Nice, Hans. My buddy's brother built a few cars and he fell in love with the experiences to the point that he couldn't part with the cars, even though they were explicitly for sale.

When I was a teenager I helped my cousin restore a 1984 Firebird.
The canary didn't die because this mine is dangerous, it died because it's lazy and wasn't raised with a proper work ethic.

Excellent, Hans. I hope this ride finds your son and finds him well. Reminds me of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, even though that book wasn't really about that. I'm looking into boat stuff in the mid-future (approximately five years).

Aside from the paint, the powder coating and the liner, ALL work was/is done by me.
The project kinda took a life of its own. I originally gave myself 2 years. Already got 3.5 in it with probably another 1.5 until I can say it is almost done.
Good luck with the boat. It is a wonderful thing to see your creation come alive.

Sink in and concrete a couple of 4x4s ( or larger) so you have six foot exposed, ten feet or so apart, and run a line at head height. Hang the tire from that.
I have to say, this is the first time I will have tire at that height. I've gone at them on the ground with hammers, and that beats the ass right off of you, but it works in limited angles. When hanging, though, it's all there.
