I'm sure we can expect a strong embrace of Federalism from whomever the Republicans nominate. They did such a good job the last time one was President.

the zeitgeist demands healthcare socialism and has the basic assumption anyone that doesnt want it is too stupid to make that decision - the public/private debate pushes the "free choice" people into the private side as the least worst option and its ends up dissonant against choice.

non dissonant libertarianism would offer the option of not having healthcare insurance at all - for those that dont want to compromise their lifestyles to maintain their coverage.

who (public or private) would have insured any of the great artists and their libertine choices

I am not referring to healthcare. I am more referring to Libertarians that stand up for the rights of that poor oppressed minority the ultra-rich. The people who defend their right to pay less in taxes than the rest of us in the name of the 'free-market'.

It couldn't be 10% because you have to think about microtransactions. Irrelevant to most people but imagine the tax burden placed upon financial institutions that make billions of transactions at fractions of a cent every hour. I talked about this idea to a friend of mine that was a risk analyst at American Express. I suggested making each transaction cost 1 penny. He said it would basically bankrupt AmEx. This was someone speaking as a person who analyzed how to maximize those tiny little transactions and reduce exposure to risk related to those transactions.

I'm actually a little bit tired of hearing about media bias. If one is too stupid to think critically or do any actual research, then how is that the fault of those purveying the product they wish to consume? Media bias is so much more driven by market forces than it is by ideological agenda.

Why doesn't the media talk about important issues? Because complex and sophisticated ideas are boring. Why are they so mean to Sarah Palin and Glen Beck? Because drama is fun. At the same time, Palin and Beck are both mean shock pundits.

As far as I am concerned Sarah Palin is a trivial personality. It's that she gets so much love that's disturbing. Doesn't matter, doesn't seem like she's even running.

the media is biased to the inner city middle class with money to spend and does everything it can to tittilate and placate them.

however, if palin not being intellectual friendly is actually a problem, id like a coherant explanation for reagan and gwb.
