My view on Sarah Palin is that Democrats cannot possibly allow a woman to win a nomination that isn't a Democrat. A Republican woman as President would be the worst thing that ever happened to the Democrat party--they rely on the "The View" vote, which would be forever damaged by a Republican woman president. They know that that would be the end of the Democrat party if she was a success--it was never about women.

Since Sarah Palin, I have encountered moderates of a certain stripe say "well the Democrats are more favorable to women". Now I say "look what they did to Sarah Palin" and they say "well that's a good point". This stripe may only be 2-5% of the population, but may be as high as 10%. More than enough to influence the outcome of an election, if it ever breaks down on this kind of issue.

Sarah Palin has brought out a lot of ugliness in people. Too many people whine about Presidential Derangement Syndrome, but none of it compares to the likes that Palin has faced.
