I think the post Bush GOP is the smartest, leanest, most effective political movement in the history of thecountry. No group has gained so much compared to what was expected of them.

And now, after relentless attacks by the Lewinsky press and the Democrats from the top to the bottom, the Ryan plan is bullishly building support across the nation. This IS NOT 1995. Not even close. The country of my dreams is within our grasp. One Republican Nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.

He took the risk, he rolled the dice, and Ryan is triumphing. God Bless him, God Bless the GOP, and God bless the American people who are turning in the right direction.

A new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds that House Republicans, who took a political risk in passing a controversial budget blueprint last week, have survived so far with some key advantages intact as Congress moves toward the debate on raising the debt ceiling, passing the 2012 budget and enacting a long-term deficit plan.



“The bad news for the Democrats is that even after the Ryan budget comes out and has been attacked for a little while, the Republicans have an advantage,” says Joseph White, a political scientist at Case Western Reserve University who studies budget politics and policy.

Republicans have held their political base intact, he says, but the nation is still polarized along partisan lines, and spending cuts are easier when they’re discussed in the abstract. “Everybody can find something they don’t like,” he says, “but that doesn’t mean there’s a majority to cut anything in particular.”

When it comes to a plan to curb the deficit, Americans have qualms about both parties:

•Nearly three-fourths of those surveyed, 71%, worry that the Democrats’ plan “won’t go far enough to fix the problem”;

•Nearly two-thirds, 64%, fear the Republicans’ deficit plan will take away needed protections for the poor and the disadvantaged and will “protect the rich at the expense of everyone else.”

Republicans have increasingly been getting heckled in their home districts by people waking up to the realization that they're going to have their Medicare stolen. It's not going to be pretty for anyone who goes on record supporting that.

If people realize that cutting spending will have no short or medium-term impact on jobs, because the two factors are related only in the most indirect of ways, then the jig is up.

The issue is when I called it, which was around June of '09, before anybody else. When cap and trade passed the house, your fate was sealed. You and yours should have seen that coming, you didn't, and you certainly were not campaigning like you were expecting a loss.

Baramba may win, but it will be irrelevant to the liberal agenda (which is the most important thing) that's dead now, and re-electing Baramba will be the worst thing for Democrats as a party, so no matter the outcome we are looking at a glorious future of One Republican Nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.

80% of Americans Would Consider Voting for a 3rd Party/Independent Presidential Candidate

The recent Reason-Rupe poll finds that 80% of Americans say they would or might consider voting for an Independent or third-party presidential candidate in the 2012 election. Specifically, 60% said they would consider voting for an independent or third-party candidate, 20% said they might consider, 17% said they would not consider, and 3% said they did not know whether they would consider voting for an Independent or third-party presidential candidate.


Across partisan identification, 89% of Independents (including partisan leaners), 86% of Republicans, and 71% of Democrats said they would or might consider candidates outside of the two major political parties.



Beyond receptiveness to unconventional partisan candidates, Americans report having little trust in the two major political parties. When asked which party they trust to govern more responsibly, the leading answer was “neither” at 35%, followed by Democrats at 31%, and Republicans at 23%.
