It would seem the future social balance and harmony of America would depend on which path Mexican Amer... ooops, I meant Hispanics, take in their journey of political involvement.

Would it be similar to the one currently pursued by the vast majority of African Americans?

Maybe more similar to the one Euro-Americans have been doing for the past 40-50 years?

Or perhaps closer to those of East/South Asian Americans?

Each of those paths will have profound differences in outcomes.

The key variable is marriage. The aspiration to marry a desirable spouse is what makes common people virtuous and productive. How this will play out in Mexican neighborhoods, I don't know.

Mexicans are most closely resembling the Irish in the way they approach life in the US. Lots of gangsterism, but a lot of hard work and perseverance too.

I live in a highly Dominican area. Very entrepeneurial. Dominicans will pay a higher premium to buy something from a Dominican business as well.

I do not foresee major assimilation problems for these groups.
