I'm surprised you've put up NHK as some official, prestigious scientific authority on this subject. You should know better than anyone that they have not one iota of independent editorial oversight, and are completely in debt and in hock to the central govt. Hardly some disinterested, non-biased source.

Also, regarding your recent responses, we all know the situation is grim, nothing can ever be perfect, and the Western media has been overly hyperventilating about this. But there is a point eventually when "Don't worry, nothing's wrong" turns into this:

We're talking about ANS, which is an industry lobby that anyone can join. Unlike ASME, MSJ, NAS, etc, which actually have standards and selective membership.
