I see this everyday, as I work with these people, and more or less am one. There's a power and spirit there.

WHat i don't like is that EVERYTHING is ironic. He showed up to the conference with no shirt and a beer because it's 'fun and funny'. Uhh...yeah...great...strike a pose.

What I hate about hipsterdom is its hate of beauty and the incredible level of conformity.

He's right though, the idea of hipsters as all trust fund kids is a bit well...not true. And yeah, people drink PBR because it's cheap. It's one of the ways you make money at a party. a .50c can of PBR can be sold for $3.

I dunno, its pretty mainstream. At least here in New York. But I lived in Brooklyn during the height of what these kids will fantasize as being like the Haight in 69. And sure, Brooklyn in the last decade was fucking awesome, still is.
