I think that goes back to my original point, you'd probably have to have those reactors, downtown Tokyo to instigate anything that bad. If you look at the ultimate death toll, etc. from Chernobyl -- it's nothing compared to what we accept as "everyday risk."
Let's say that the Green Party or GreenPeace is right, hundreds of thousands of people dead over the intervening decades -- that's nothing compared to ~700,000* deaths due to heart disease in the US, alone, EVERY YEAR.
*that can't be right?
