Call it intent , then. If the core measure of a fighter is his willingness to close with and engage the enemy with force , then the measure of a hunter is his willingness to pursue and end something. My intent on that has been flagging enough that I think I will restrict my hunting in the future to what can be accomplished with a .44 revolver or a .22 auto.
Nice hunt , BTW. I've been at altitude , but I am Apalachian , from the old mountains that became too worn and tired to hold snow many years ago. The young rock mountains are either silent or they shreik. Those old men are always mumbling. More memories , more life. Smaller spirits , though , than those of the high rocks.
