Spengler on ATOL

Just thought starting this thread, for me thinks most people liked Spengler for his essays on ATOL.

I wonder if Spengler has ever dropped his contempt for the youth long enough to actually associate with any of them.

I'd like a Spengler article where he tells the neighborhood kids to stay off his lawn.

What elderly cranks don't understand is that, even if the Facebook relationships are shallow, that doesn't mean that this is the only kind of relationship that people have. The young do everything that Spengler (or Andy Rooney) aged people did, except they also do new things, and they may even do some of the old things better.

To me the point of these essays is to semi-covertly shit on Arabs and minimize the recent uprisings. His comic misunderstanding of youth culture is merely an amusing coincidence.

Tinker, I think the coat Spengler likes to wear is that of a modern day (Spengleresque) Jewish Prophet, challenging everything everybody takes faith in while pointing to the unpopular yet always present "mud below". Even if all practicalities of economy and the whims of culture were in healthy waters, he'd resort to point to the fact of death at the end of the road... and that thusly nothing can be taken for granted ever.

Though Alph made the same comment about food a couple of weeks ago.
