A real good news thread will go nowhere, good news is usual gradual and therefore boring. I tried it on ATOL, it quickly died while Doom & Gloom thrived. The genuine good news is that more people are currently being lifted out of poverty than at any time in history.

If Ali makes it yet another thread on Iranian supremacism, well it's funny in theory and just a boring as good news in practice.
Pessimism is the soft option.

I strongly prefer cats to birds. If a new one moves into the neighborhood and starts munching on the sparrows that will indeed be Good News.
