Canada is a very rich country with a lot of natural resources compared to its infinitesimal population.
Canada does not have the astronomical trade deficit that the US has.
Canada has a very well designed point system for immigration, where the priority is given to skilled and well educated people who have something to contribute to the country. Immigration to the US is much easier for less educated people.
However, with every place there is something right and something wrong. There is still some unique dynamism in the US.
