I feel this is more fanciful parlor language, but where does the idea of a "Market-state" begin and the "corrupt" nation state serving its corporate masters end? I think it would be a healthy direction for policy if our laws sought to cultivate healthy, productive, growing markets. It is bizarre why Boeing would need a Foreign Service Officer to help them sell their planes, unless that sort of arrangement is part of package.

But late to the party, but in my view the wikileaks "revelations" simply confirmed things everybody suspected or said they knew in the first place. So now there is documentary evidence of X or Y, but everybody already assumed both X and Y so there is just a collective sigh, even though there is no hard documentation to support those claims.


The US government should have ignored this entirely. Failed efforts to play cybercop were embarrassing, as are their current efforts to legally pursue twitter users and Icelandic parliamentarians.
