I believe in rampant, ruthless speculation and finance, but I believe in having it for everyone.
The biggest problem right now is that people with tiny amounts of money don't get to play.
Oh, I know, micro finance is just pissing away money; well I think that as long as we bail out every bank that lends billions to organized crime, and damn well knows that they are, and that they'll never get the money back, we can give similar treatment to banks that lend small amounts to the poor. When we do that, we will be bringing all of the economy on to the same playing field and policy can manage things better.
I would prefer a world where we don't bail anything out at all but I'm an older guy now and know that ship never even pulled into port, let alone sailed.
IOW, bailouts for all will come to the same thing as bailouts for none, and it seems more doable.
