Sounds like Dimon may be a rough diamond with flaws amid the dross on Wall Street but check the comments.

I think the author is not aware that economies are multiviarable affairs, and that comparing Iceland to just about anything is pointless, due to it's unbelievably small size.

IE mosquito farts are not noticed, other than for purely academic reasons, whilst elephant farts can change your life.

Maybe time has come for a bit of isolationism. Isolate Europe, isolate USA/Canada, isolate Latin America, isolate China, isolate India, isolate the Middle East, isolate Africa... Until each block has sorted out its individual problems, namely by permanently defaulting on everybody else. Keep external trade to a minimum. Stop currency convertibility. Set the alarm clock for the 22nd century...

This crisis is caused by a defunct banking system. Like an old leaking plumbing system, it just needs to be renovated, some reformed and redesigned. Don't expect these changes to occur if you leave it to those who make big money on other people's disasters. It has to be enforced via political channels in a democratic process. Notice how very little this is on any politcal agenda. All we know: there is a financial crisis and Bernancke prints missing dollars until the dollar is worthless.
