Happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate.

Happy every other holiday that I miss from other parts of the globe (I really need a list of those, everyone else seems to be friendly and remember the American holidays, and I feel like a jerk for not making the same effort).

Ate too much and now I'm taking things down from the wall to paint my front room tomorrow. Kids didn't eat worth a darn they were too busy playing. Nine adults and Six children all under the age of 10 running up and down the hallway of a two bedroom apartment in Nashville TN (We traditionally have it at my nephew's place). We talked all day and can't remember one thing that was said but sure did enjoy seeing everyone. The kids cried like heck when it was time to go home, they wanted to spend the night and play until they couldn't play any longer. Had a great Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I spent my Thanksgiving at my parents' house in New Mexico. My sister brought her son and her boyfriend. My Mom's sister and her husband came out, as did their (adult) son. It was a good time. Kind of interesting to see what I am separated from far off on the other side of the continent.

I pecan smoked some chicken yesterday as the family poured in.
This is the first Thanksgiving we have at my year old house.
Kids running around, everyone is loud and the house was a mess this morning but it was a great time.
The chicken turned out great also.

We have an American colleague at work who has just relocated here for a two year secondment, and who was in culture shock that yesterday was just a normal working day.

Having past , there is nothing now till the round of Christmas Parties, and then the whole country effectively shuts down between Christmas Eve and January 2nd.

We don't have a Thanksgiving Day in Portugal. Therefore I have no choice but give thanks every day of my life for all the marvels which surround me, and for all the blessings which have been bestowed upon me, starting with my daughters. I mostly have been blessed with that gene which makes me ignore material riches and be happy with whatever I have. Which, fortunately, has been enough to keep me alive and to pay for the internet...
