Maybe a helpful tool for Israelis and Palestinians who wish each other away. And Ahma should now be ably to whipe Israel off the map with ease too.
In fact, this may become a general purpose tool for everybody!

The weird connections award goes to Ada, Countess Lovelace. She wrote the instruction set for the differential engine, as mentioned in the article, and thus qualifies as the world's first computer programmer. A programming language was named after her.
She was in fact Lord Byron's daughter. Her mother insisted she had a good education in science and maths as the last thing she wanted her to be was a Romantic poet.

Mainland China also gets a lot more help from the U.S. and other "First World" countries than the U.S.S.R. did.
The MIPS architecture, which the "Chinese chip" uses, was developed at Stanford and Chinese didn't have to go to the trouble of stealing it.

My wife is at a media conference in Vancouver. She was telling me about a distributed Social Capital investing tool. She said it sounds precisely like the system I've described wanting for many years. And their first project is going to be for one of my favorite bands from childhood, ironically. I'm also getting into this field professionally. When I get more info from her upon her return, I plan to post something.

Apple is suing Motorola now. So the valence can go both ways on that one. Though, I favor Motorola here, because their suit against Apple was pre-emptive. "No you cannot patent fucking hand gestures."

Amusing how Apple, probably the most profitable mobile phone company at the moment, is the node with the most directed adjacent edges in the litigation graph.
