Has anyone ever considered that we actually live within a singularity and that all of what happens in our universe is a tempest within a teapot, and that what we think of as the 'edge of the universe' is just the edge of what we can see, the event horizon?
The canary didn't die because this mine is dangerous, it died because it's lazy and wasn't raised with a proper work ethic.

University of Buffalo and Caltech physicists proposed a broadening of Hertz's contact theory through modelling the connections between the geometry of the contact region of adjacent elastic objects with axial symmetry and the magnitude and behaviour of the nonlinear repulsive force between them. Different surface geometries offer possibilities through which energy propagation can be modified through particle design. The model has potential applications for energy transport, localisation, and dispersion in granular systems and in the development of VLSI circuits.

Using the scale you gave me, it could be said that many of the notions and passions of time travel occur at the cultural level. If a sort of physical limitation or law that insults the human imagination can be lifted, a phantasmic new playground opens up. Humans like a mutable reality, as it goes easy on them ;>...........
Also, dig your Steinmetz story. Will share that with the museum staff......
