Matriculation from the Spengler Forum

If you are arriving here because your beloved Spengler forum is imploding. I have not ever seen this as a replacement for the Spengler forum. One can post here and post there. I refuse to post there for as long as participant moderation is opaque.

I was banned from that forum under false pretenses. Not that I didn't do plenty to warrant a banning, it's just that the official reason given was a lie.

So you are welcome here, if this replaces the other forum so be it, if it supplements it so be it. I'm not out to destroy the other forum.

Me too JerryBerry. I like that it's now getting to a point where I don't have to respond to every thread for there to be a discussion. I woke up this morning to discussions that went on without me. It was nice.

I guess I should introduce myself.

I was once known as "Aferim" on the Spengler forum. Returned to find it as infested by religious nuts as when I left. A few PMs (thanks ST, if you're lurking here) and, seeing how the older rival Spengler successor known as the Conservatory is, after a brief resurrection, well and truly dead again, I am arrived here at Diegetics to see what stories are woven.

I am glad to find here my past two favorite posters (the maybe-Japanese Colonel Sun and the droll Brit now known as Torchwood).

I was asked by three different people from Atol to give this small forum a try. So here I am. As some of you know, I am in what is supposedly my 4th and last year in my PhD program, so time comes in short supply. I therefore plan mostly to lurk, but may occasionally jump in if the bait is good.

I may also inflict my pseudo-literary musings on the small captive audience here from time to time, as I was wont to do in the old place. Nice to see some of the old faces back here.
