A real good news thread will go nowhere, good news is usual gradual and therefore boring. I tried it on ATOL, it quickly died while Doom & Gloom thrived. The genuine good news is that more people are currently being lifted out of poverty than at any time in history.

If Ali makes it yet another thread on Iranian supremacism, well it's funny in theory and just a boring as good news in practice.

Is finding the neighbourhood bird-killing moggie mushed in a frozen tire rut something to consider good news, or ...... it's a bit crass, huh?.....

What? Catholic saints all hate birds. For good reason, too:

I strongly prefer cats to birds. If a new one moves into the neighborhood and starts munching on the sparrows that will indeed be Good News.

And I am not a Catholic saint. Yet.
