I think that a relevant saying, which those with an excessively "individualistic" Weltanschauung should bear in mind, is "no man is an island". It could save them from much folly. Perhaps John Donne saw a connection between insularity and an excessively "individualistic" Weltanschauung.
If he did, being an Englishman of his era with a Catholic background may have had something to do with it. Someone from an English Catholic background might see English Protestants as both excessively individualistic and insular and a Korean might view American WASPs the same way.
Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
