Now I have never been a womanizer but have for better or worse been around plenty. There is a certain segment of them, Bill Clinton, AS, Gene Simmons and so forth, who don't really seem to care what the piece of meat looks like.

I can't relate to that at all. Anybody have any insight?

all moderate apologies to the ones who do the above activities in isolation for their own reasons - my sense is driven by the trifecta .. so in the noddy armchair, him being selfish indulgent is about as surprising as a bear taking a dump in the woodlands.

If I were to venture a guess it would be that the woman he had an affair with was lower maintenance than the girls he might meet at a party. I see this happen a lot in my life. Some guys will just take low maintenance and not as hot over a high maintenance hot chick. Arnold's also got that problem of being a bit weird. Most girls I know really wouldn't know what to do with somebody with that physique (though I guess money and power normally trump that). If these parties have lots of powerful men at them, Arnold might not be the best choice among the gold diggers due to the fact that the hulking body thing is more attractive to gay men.

When it comes to the logistics of affairs, having the woman in your house all the time is easier than having to come up with excuses for phone calls at bad times and having to work her into your schedule. See Woody Allen's MATCH POINT for examples. You also don't have to worry about being spotted in public and having to find an explanation for why you were where you shouldn't have been. All the sinning is happening behind closed doors.
