I just watched this fight. It was an incredible fight. Fedor Emelienenko tapped out in one minute and nine seconds. Werdum threw no strikes, and was thrown off balance by a relentless assault from Fedor, but in the process Fedor got within his ability to grapple. Fabricio Werdum is a BJJ champion of Abu Dhabi, which is a big submissions tournament. So he was able to get the top guy in all of MMA into a figure four leg lock around his neck with his arm pinned by his hands through his hips. Fedor was getting ready to pass out. I was blown away by how quick it happened. I was mesmerized. Now there is this strange kind of thing for the championship belt which gives it a lot of drama. Whoever won tonight was slated to face the Champion Alistair Overeem who is a brutal ground and pound guy just like Fedor. Everyone wanted Fedor to face Overeem. Overeem has also been submitted by Fabricio Werdum, but much earlier in his career. So both Fedor and Overeem are largely dominant in MMA except against Fabricio Werdum. So Fabricio Werdum faces Overeem again, but in the post-fight interview he was talking about how much he wanted to fight Fedor again. He blew off Overeem as though that fight wasn't really important, even though it was coming up. So that fight will be quite interesting.

In the undercard fights which were all good, the one that stood out to me was Cris Cyborg just pounding Jan Finney for 8 minutes. It was one of the most brutal fights one-sided fights I have ever seen. It was like a prison beat down, or what I would imagine one to be like anyhow. ;) People were talking about how tough Jan Finney was for just taking the punishment for that long. Seriously, she was just getting beaten. It was a total beatdown. Cris Cyborg moves so fluidly that she is really sexy, she's very feline. She's not pretty, but very sensuous while brutal.
