Kurosawa's Pulse

Has anyone seen this movie? I watched it last night, and it's the first movie in a long time that really disturbed and haunted me. It's a fascinating film, beautiful in its own way, but the idea of death as eternal loneliness is pretty horrifying.
The canary didn't die because this mine is dangerous, it died because it's lazy and wasn't raised with a proper work ethic.
