This has been going on for centuries, Azari, mostly from snobbish commentators who could not conceive that a simple journeyman playwright could write all this stuff.
The point is that all these important people (such as Bacon, at one stage Lord Chancellor, or the Earl of Oxford, another suggestion) would never have condescended to write plays, which were a low form of entertainment at the time (poetry was high class and OK, and then as now made no money)
In any case Bacon was a lawyer, and wrote like one. No way could he have written what Shakespeare did; that he invented scientific method was quite enough.
Pessimism is the soft option.
