This study doesn't impress me and I'm not interested in addressing it......
I would like to surmise the reason atheists are perceived as untrustworthy may stem from a subconscious assumption that one willing to lay down one's life and leave it (at death) is somehow....... irrational; as in being insufficiently committed to the 'life principle' to even have a rational self-interest. Sorta like, "if you don't have a commitment to the after-life, I don't trust your commitment to this life." The same feeling of distrust one may have for an overtly suicidal person.......
If people were to examine that assumption consciously, they may be embarrassed by it and choose to amend it, but it's either an unconscious prejudice or a spot-on assessment. Depending what side you take......'>.......
