Tinker, just glance through Acts, one of the reasons we have deacons is to look after the widows/poor/etc. Also, the history of the early church was very big on charity.

But then they also sold all they owned and held it in common, too..... hmmm.... maybe Paul was a Socialist.

Ansuchin I always saw it as a quasi-Hindu concept. The Atman or uber-soul is the essential being that underlies all life and consciousness. Any physical manifestation is like a cell in the body. And Christianity as such is a subset of that. The body of Christ being every single person. By transubstantiation the Christian becomes a part of the body of Christ, his hands, his feet so to speak. And when that individual dies, it is the larger body, the uber-soul, or the Christ that goes on, and the only promise he makes to the individual beings on Earth, is that he will remember, always.

Show me the most trusted fact their is and then compel me to worship that fact..... No that doesn't work.Hmmmm... How about we find the historical figure that we know the absolute most facts about and then base a religion on their lives......No that doesn't work either. Fact don't seem to make for good religion and history doesn't make for good religion either. This does not prove that both facts and history are incorrect.... Hmmmm. Sound doesn't make good soup so since I can prove that sound is real and that soup is real then I must say that their are some facts that just don't make for good soup.
