Yesterday the visiting Chinese premier admitted on the steps of the White House that China needs to improve it's human rights record. Had some fool from the GOP or the TP gained such an official concession, it would be major news. Not so if you are a black Dem POTUS. Cue the Virginia Slims ad music.

1958.... McCarthyite Republican VP Nixon....has an amiable albeit sometimes strained if not heated exchange with Khrushchev in which he (K) conceeds that the soviet union did not share the 'capitalist attitude toward women' in in the Kitchen Debates....which were not only televised extensively but remain popular youtube foder these 50+ years later.
