I think its all about what advertisers think, unless Newspapers and media have a source of revenue I'm forgetting. Maybe media has become so big that there's other models that could keep you afloat. But if lesser evils drove advertizers from Glenn Beck, one has to wonder what's going to happen. This does seem like a pretty big deal and keeps getting bigger. Now its revealed there was collusion between police, these private investigators and journalists. And who else? Interesting times...

paper newspapers are dieing and getting people to pay for online news isnt taking off like they hoped. newscorp is allegedly changing to a subscription model but i wonder if the loss in advertising revenue will be covered by the signup rate, they keep delaying it.

there is more than this scandal on their plate - they are battling for relevancy against the state run broadcasters (BBC,ABC etc) for the official news and the blogs and social media for the rest.

job security, garunteed wages and working conditions, health care, holiday leave, maternity leave and general industry protections that make their world stable.
