Patrolling the mean streets of this forum today I happened to glance at Tinker's join date while reading one of his shamelessly-liberal-yet-strangely-bordering-on-Toryism posts and I realized with a start (well, sort of) that it was one year and one day ago that this forum opened.

It was a little more than one year ago that war came to Spengaruman's stronghold and the split between the dwarves and the elves could not be mended anymore. And so, some of us came here under the guidance of Tinker to be free from oppression (well, sort of) and to post pictures of beautiful women. From a couple of posters, the community (that's progressive) has grown to 153 Jeffersonian yeomen (that's Libertarian, I think), including lurkers, trolls and spambots.

The year was rather eventful, featuring wars of religion, prolific Persianism, Republican partisanship and the tempestuous departure of Rhapsody in a blaze of drama. All in all, I'd call it a good year and I say "La mulţi ani" to our forum.

A year already? Impressive. Clearly the most successful of the fractured Spengler fora.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool forum. I really appreciate everyone's contributions. I wish we had a little bit more of a trickle of new blood in from time to time, but I like it the way it is too.

Have to say that this is board has over the last year become the far more interesting one due to the range of posters posting here.

Great thanks Tinker, for ushering this sanctuary of sanity form the burning maelstrom that was the Spengler forum last year.

Unfortunately, darker forces are once again at the gates, sloth among them.

Good diverse group of opinions and only minor "f#ck off and die" scuffles occasionally. Damn near every other fora devolves into homogenous echo chambers, and shrill us vs. them attitudes.


The various topical boards was/is a prime feature of this place as well. Keep it up Amici.

What I most enjoy is the fact that we have proven that a forum without censorship was possible. As a result we have seen how an easy target for rejection, as Azari, has become a quietly accepted member, to our benefit. No matter how much we may disagree with him, we now have a much greater understanding of the way at least some Iranians view the world, which I think is a very positive development. We may still see Iran and Iranians as being a bit weird, but I doubt we still see them as the "enemy". We probably were a more than usual tolerant lot to start with, but this capacity to practice peaceful coexistence (with the possible exception of Republican v. Democrat, ) has been very gratifying.

Azari posts a tissue of lies and bullshit. Nothing meaningful learned about Iran from him - in same way one learn nothing about Best Korea from listening Radio Pyongyang. He not halva leg to stand on; only shill for murderous Pistachio warlord indigini satraps.

Lure of his posts like lure of watching drunk man drive van around in circles on frozen pond while he fuck pig - too bizarre to tear eyes away from - comical disaster imminent, with equally comical justification after.

Also, I might not agree with everything Azari says but he does have valid points from the brown region's perspective unless of course he is talking about how much better the region would be under an Iranian umbrella!

All in all, a good place to be. An escape. Thank you for it!
