So, do we propose then that this guy warrants putting America on a civil war footing?
It's not about what the US does to foreign nationals. The severity of their treatment may wax and wane with the sentiment of the times, and is entirely subject to command authority. At the very least, their disposition is not ( to the best of my knowledge) under constitutional protection. The right of an American citizen to due process, is.
Even if we are absolutely certain that we have to kill people for what they say ( and I can't believe that prospect doesn't give everybody here the squirts), there are still ways to do it with due process. Maybe a trial, hell, even congressional oversight and/or notification would be nice, and might actually ( with a real, live, functioning Congress) be a speedbump to tyranny.
Checks and balances? Constitution? Safeguard against totalitarianism? No?
Ah, fuckit. I tried. But I will say this; you want a civil war? Start pulling civil war- league hijinks.
Have fun with the car bombings.
Don't know what it is, but I'm agin'it.
