id say for many people the definition of multicultural is actually multiracial - once you get into the nitty gritty about hard culture... male/female relationships, parent/child relationships, state/religion relationships, lifes priorities.. buahahha...

between economic downturn and externally forced cultural changes their will be more crazies and modern tech does mean those crazies will be more destructive.

the trick is going to be maintaining the wisdom and strength to keep the spirit of the legal system and deal with the perpetrators with real evidence of real crime rather than trying to pre-fix the problem with heavy handed laws that try and stop it from happening.

this is where i dislike much of where our societies are heading.. far too many laws that are essentially legally enforced prejudice, and yes tinker, that does include the drug laws.. they shouldnt be an excuse for bad behaviour either... I dont care why your not fit for society, you have proved yourself unfit by your actions.

it does sound absurd to many ears, so many people "know" their prejudices are correct and its madness to risk letting "those" people cause problems.

a few loons here or there is not as damaging to society as clamping down on all potential dangers and punishing for difference, that way lies hell in both left wing and right wing forms, atheist and theist forms.

its pretty simple to me, tinker and some conservative muslims aint gunna live well together - there is only so much give and take thats possible and that involves a reasonably lowest common denominator public space and the ability to have a completely private space...

the ability to live and let live and disagree on the details is the critical bit and the hardest to maintain - so many people are damn sure that those who are different to them are wrong and need fixing to understand how wonderful they are.

thats largely how my west used to be before progressives and conservatives tried to start fixing things, and is the perfect system for true multiculturism... lovely tolerant indifference..

the more the left/right thing keeps trying for social engineering and social change, the more we will move from this low level 5g war into full scale civil war.
