The kid in the city lives there because he likes the system. That's why he lives there.

So what is happening to him is that he gets 3 choices. 1) learn the error of his ways the easy way, 2) the hard way, 3) or learn the true side of Darwinism (survival of the fittest).

3) is about percentages when the shit goes down.

in my time spent in amongst the city folk, I didnt really get much sense of wanting self responsiblity so i think the chances of darwin being on the side of the grumpy individualists as dubious.

i get hopeful from time to time that they might see all the squabbling and power broking and realise why we *used* to think in terms of individual responsibility but hopeful is full of .. ermm.. hopes and dreams.

blah blah anon sees a corrupt system, tea party sees a corrupt system, everyone sees a corrupt system and the status quo is treating all of them with contempt because "we haz democracy" and their is nothing to fix.

murdoch is just a spectator, he is only successful as a peddler of tits and arse papers, blaming him for the current ideology fights is just whack.

Do you know that Fox News is watched by about 2-3% of the population?

I'm guessing the vast percentage of Tea party people watch FOX, I know I would if a particular News source was showing my compadres demonstrating and interviewing people who were supporting issues I support.

FOX has exagerated the chances of Tea party people getting the job that matters, in 2010 it worked for members of Congress, but for the top job to go to a anti-Federalist person would mean ending the money printing machine for the likes of Goldman Sachs et al, not likely to happen, as the Wall st protestors know.

Occupy want an end to money buying Federal Government via regulation.

Tea Party wants an end to money buying Federal Government by ending Federal Government.

if we back away from the hysterical "end of federal government" angle, which isnt on anyones agenda (except probably mine;)

what exactly is the benefit of a federal government getting involved in "one way for everyone" legal fixes and cultural outcomes for a large diverse country like america.

what exactly is this tight common ground between flyover state christian farmers, inner city hipsters and mexican labourers that demands every single aspect of life and family and community to be enforced from washington and how do you reconcile vague words like "multicultural" and "diversity".

why shouldnt the more lefty liberal states run things more socialised and have legal drugs and gay marriage, why do they need the agreement of the flyover state conservatives ?

ditto the other way round...

aka: what is the role of federal government.

Today was the largest day so far. There were tens of thousands of people as many of the Unions showed up in force and there was a mass student walk-out.

Wow, white is the new black.

Congratulations to everybody there, great to see tens of thousands of Americans standing up to the bullshit.

It would be a great thing to see, you are lucky to be there Tinker.

Dylan Ratigan interviews a Tea Partier who flew in to the Occupation. This isn't the 'left's' Tea Party, this is just an extension of the REAL Tea Party, not the Republican hijack of the Tea Party.

http://twitter.com/#!/DylanRatigan and his website http://www.dylanratigan.com/ are an interesting mix of tea party and obama failures and lots of ron paul.

maybe their is a chance of synthesis.

And yes, there is a lot of chance for synthesis between the Tea Party and the Occupy movement.

The real story of the Boston Tea Party needs to be explained. It wasn't about taxation, it was about a corporate monopoly and the stifling of industry. Sure, taxation was a part of it, and they wanted to be represented so they could create industry of their own to compete with British industry.

But the Boston Tea Party is the synthesis of BOTH of these movements.
