It will get worse, still. This is a point I made about the Tea Party. They represent, for whatever their failings, a sizable contingent within America, with not insignificant tools and power at their disposal. Whatever tactical or PR errors they make, the force they are isn't going to just magically go away. we have not heard the last of this bunch, by far. This was only round one.

their are lotsa people who are suffering or going to suffer as the reality adjustments happen, on these levels i have always understood OWS and in my own grumpy way agreed with some aspects of it.

tinkers priorities (taking power back with local community services replacing centralised ones) is something i really agree with, its one of the foundation stones of having a say in your own world and libertarian perspectives.. flipside being that locally, that isnt on the agenda of the ows types i know.

According to Bill O'Reilly the Occupy Movement has failed because 68% of those polled by the WALL STREET JOURNAL do not support the movement.

According to recent census data 1 in 3 Americans are now "poor." Granted many of them are rednecks who will reflexively hate anything like OWS, but it does suggest a huge pool of Americans with good reason to be resentful of the status quo. The raw materials for a long-running and influential movement are there.



Some action planned for Brooklyn Bridge today. It will be interesting to see how that develops.
